EV Charger Installation in Stamford, CT
Stamford’s large professional population and high income demographic make it one of Fairfield County’s strongest EV markets. Single-family homes with attached garages are straightforward installations; Stamford also has a significant inventory of older single-family homes where panel capacity needs to be assessed before running a new 50-amp circuit.
PowerPlus Electric handles EV charger installation in Stamford. CT E1 #197810. You supply the charger unit; we handle the circuit, wiring, and mounting. Labor: $350–$1,200. Approximately 35 miles from our West Haven base.
How the Installation Works
You supply the charger. Purchase any Level 2 EVSE unit (ChargePoint, Wallbox, Tesla Wall Connector, JuiceBox, etc.) and we handle all electrical work — circuit, conduit, mounting, and connection.
We run a dedicated 50-amp circuit from your panel to the charger location. Standard installations use a 240V/50-amp breaker and 6-gauge wire.
Panel capacity check. If your panel is an older 100-amp unit, we’ll assess whether you have room for a 50-amp dedicated circuit or whether a panel upgrade makes sense alongside the charger installation.
Stamford Housing Considerations
Stamford’s housing ranges from pre-war properties in the city’s older neighborhoods to 2000s construction in newer subdivisions. Homes with 100-amp or older service may need a panel upgrade before the charger circuit can be safely added.
